Our awesome Event Coordinator, the irrepressible Julie Bates AO sums it up: “It was a joy to be in the room full of such love, talent, history, tasty treats and good will.”

The fabulous MC Kooky Divine orchestrated the afternoon, which started with a heartfelt Welcome to Country by City of Sydney Councilor Yvonne Weldon.

Then we heard inspirational speeches by The Hon. Michael Kirby and Disability Discrimination Commissioner Rosemary Kayess.

There were stunning performances by the awesomely talented singer and actor Paul Capsis and the incredible burlesque legend Imogen Kelly.

The joy was elevated with the bestowing of Awards of Recognition and presenting wonderful prizes given by our generous sponsors and supporters.

Our table sponsors showcased their work and service to our two communities – people with disability and sex workers, highlighting the unique partnerships that have prevailed over these past 25 years championing the rights of our respective communities, often as a united voice.

Many thanks to Julie Bates AO as our event coordinator extraordinaire!
Thanks also to our MC, keynote speakers, performers and technical crew, camera-people, all our the volunteers who gave their time and energy, our wonderful sponsors, generous donors of cash and gifts and of course all the guests – who made it so special on the day.
Everyone had such a great time, there’s already talk of having another live event in 2026
