Remembering Touching Base in your will is a profound way to support our ongoing work. Your legacy will enable us to continue working to create systemic change for disabled people and sex workers. 

Bequests, in the context of wills, refers to the act of leaving assets, money, or personal property to individuals or organisations such as Touching Base through a will.

If you wish to consider a bequest for Touching Base, we recommend you seek professional advice from a solicitor or financial advisor to ensure your bequest is clearly and legally stated. 

To include Touching Base as a beneficiary in your will, the steps include:

  • Decide on the gift: Determine what type of gift you want to leave to the charity. This can be a specific amount of money, a percentage of your estate, or specific assets such as parcels of shares or real estate.
  • Consult a legal advisor: It’s recommended that you speak with a solicitor who specialises in wills and estates. They can ensure your will is legally valid and that your wishes are clearly articulated.
  • Create or update your will:  If you already have a will, you’ll need to update it to include Touching Base as a beneficiary. 
  • Provide Correct information: Clearly state Touching Base Inc’s name and the other details provided below. Specify the type of gift and any particular wishes you have regarding the use of the gift.
  • Please notify Touching Base: This isn’t mandatory but will help Touching Base plan for the future. It also enables us to give you a heartfelt thanks and recognise your generosity. You can notify us by emailing treasurer@touchingbase.org. 
  • Keep your will safe: Ensure your will is stored in a safe place and that your executor knows where to find it.
