Touching Base Referral List Database Manager – a volunteer position for a current or former sex worker anywhere in Australia

About Touching Base
Touching Base supports the intrinsic right of people with disability, including older people with disability, to sexual expression and physical intimacy, and values the professional services that sex workers provide to members of the community, including those living with disability.

About the Role
The Referral List Database Manager is the main communication point between Touching Base, sex workers and establishments. This includes first time enquiries, as well as current members whose contact details need to be maintained.

Core responsibilities include providing peer support to sex workers seeing clients with disability and maintaining the Touching Base referral list database of disability-friendly sex workers and establishments.

The time involved in performing this role can be expanded depending on your availability, but we would require a minimum of 1 – 2 hours a week.

As the work of the Referral List Database Manager is all conducted online or over the phone, you can be based anywhere in Australia, providing you have reliable internet and phone connections.

This is a great opportunity to use knowledge gained from working in the sex industry to benefit the sexual rights of people with disability, and add to your own set of skills. Here’s what our outgoing Referral List Database Manager has to say about her experience in the role.

“Volunteering for Touching Base has given me a great opportunity to work from a peer perspective in an organisation related to sex work. It helped me feel connected and motivated to do more for our community.”  Kits Nakata, March 2022
