Professional Disability Awareness Training (PDAT) workshop - delivered and hosted by Touching Base


This workshop is strictly reserved for current sex workers with experience of working in the sex industry.

Goals and objectives of this workshop:
• Background the sexual rights & diverse sexuality of people with disability

• Understanding how discrimination may create barriers for people with disability

• Learn to arrange services through a third party, e.g. personal care attendant

• Gain knowledge and skills on how to increase the accessibility of your services

• Gain tips on working with clients with various disabilities

• Address the topics of ‘informed consent’ and alternative forms of communication

• Increase awareness of the Touching Base Referral List

• Increased networking and support for sex workers who see clients with disability

  • Workshop will be interactive with group activities and plenty of group discussions
  • You will receive a Certificate of Attendance in your working name and/or real name

Registrations and payments need to be received no later than
 5pm Monday 30th March 2020


Between 31st March – 2nd April 2020, Rachel - a sex worker on the Touching Base Committee - will contact everyone who has registered. You will then be provided the exact workshop address and be sent pre-reading material and links to interesting audio-visual resources to watch before the workshop.
