Sex Industry policy position of the AIDS Council of NSW (ACON)

“ACON’s current policy position in relation to the sex industry states:
  • That state, federal and local government laws and regulations should not be enacted which threaten the security, privacy, health or safety of workers in the sex industry.
  • That local and state government activities should ensure the anonymity of private workers as a means of ensuring their health and safety.
  • That private sex workers should not be treated in a discriminatory manner relative to other home based businesses, such as masseurs or architects.
  • That the public exposure by local or state government of private worker operations and the identity of workers places those workers at risk.”
