The Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is a huge annual event held during late summer in Sydney, with international media coverage and over half a million people lining the streets to watch the parade. Since 2002, people with disabilities have been invited to join the Sex Workers Outreach Project's Mardi Gras float, and we have marched together for our rights under the Touching Base banner - SEX WORKERS AND PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY COMING TOGETHER.

Most of the images in our gallery were caught on film by photographer Doerthe Jansen, during the 2002 Mardi Gras. All images stored in this gallery are subject to copyright protection.
